  • ASX Company News: Transfield Extends NSW School Contract

    Transfield Services (TSE) has secured a A$540 million contract with long-term client NSW Department of Services, Technology and Administration. Transfield Services will provide facilities management and cleaning services to public schools, TAFE colleges and government buildings to an expanded geographical footprint that now includes the Hunter/Central Coast, North and Western Sydney regions.  The contract is for five years, with the option to extend for a further two years and will take effect on 1st July 2011.

    ASX Company News: Transfield Secures Adelaide Water Contract

    A Transfield Services (TSE) joint venture with Degremont and Suez Environnement has secured a new 10 year alliance contract with a new customer, SA Water, worth approximately A$1.1 billion to operate and maintain water and wastewater services for the City of Adelaide and the surrounding metropolitan area.

    After the initial term, the contract has a further extension option that will be reviewed and awarded in 12 month increments for up to six years. Transfield Services holds a 50 percent share in the joint venture. In an alliance with SA Water, the joint venture will maintain and operate South Australian water and wastewater treatment plants, water and wastewater network assets providing potable water to over 1.1 million residents in a regional area stretching from Gawler, 50 kilometres north of the city, to Yankalilla, 80 kilometres to the south. It will also be responsible for the delivery of minor capital works that relate directly to the operations of the network and treatment plants.

    ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures Avis Budget Contract

    Transfield Services’ (TSE) US facilities management subsidiary, USM, has been awarded a one year contract with major global client Avis Budget, as part one of a multi-phased approach to a national facilities management program. In this initial phase, USM will provide janitorial services to Avis Budget’s 2000 sites across the United States. Separately, following on from Transfield Services’ announcement on 22 June 2010, the Company confirms that it has signed a revised commercial agreement with Western Power.

    Managing Director and CEO, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “Both of these contracts are examples of our abilities to build on relationships to secure new types of work with existing clients, or to leverage a leading market position to win new work in new industries and broaden our client-base.”

    Transfield Services, as part of the Future Grid Alliance with Western Power will provide engineering, field resources, supervision and project management services to Western Power’s distribution network throughout the entire South West Interconnected System (SWIS) area, stretching from Kalbarri in the north to Kalgoorlie in the east and south to Albany. The revised Agreement extends the original five year contract by an additional year with a five year extension option.

    USM provides a range of facilities management and maintenance services to its clients, including snow removal, landscaping, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), floor care, janitorial, lighting, electrical and repair services. Its major clients include Wal-Mart, Rite Aid Corporation, Bed Bath and Beyond, Jo Ann Fabric, Target, The Sports Authority and Regis Corporation.     ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures WA Caltex Construction Contract

    Transfield Services (TSE) has secured a construction contract to the value of A$33 million with Caltex Australia, leveraging off its market leading position in the Australian hydrocarbons maintenance services sector. Transfield Services will build new fuel storage tanks and a road tanker loading facility at Caltex’s fuels terminal at Port Hedland in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Commencing in September, the project is expected to take approximately 12 months and will provide significant expansion of fuel delivery capacity in a growing region.

    Transfield Services’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr Peter Goode, said today; “This is another significant win for the Company, as we continue to build on our position in the hydrocarbons maintenance services sector to help secure construction projects. This new direction is part of the Company strategy, and a wider industry trend, of maintenance and reliability experts becoming more involved in the initial design and construction phase of assets.”

    Share Purchase Plan: Transfield Services

    Transfield Services (TSE) announced on the 26/8/2010 that they would be conducting a Share Purchase Plan to raise additional capital. The record date was the 25/8/2010 on which shareholders must own the share to participate in the SPP. The closing date is 21/9/2010.  Shares will be issued on 1/10/2010 and begin trading soon after.   A maximum of $15,000 can be purchased by each shareholder at $3.13.

    ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures 12 Year Ontario Road Maintenance Contract

    Transfield Services (TSI) subsidiary, Transfield Services North America – Transportation Infrastructure   (TSNA-TI), announced it has secured preferred contractor status for a new US$172 million contract with existing client, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation. This new 12-year contract follows the US$143 million contract secured in August 2009 and covers operations and maintenance services of roads and associated infrastructure in the Sault Ste Marie area of Ontario.

    In addition, the Company has signed US$30 million worth of new and renewed work with long-term clients Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (AKDOT&PF).  The renewed seven-year, US$15 million contract with FDOT includes asset maintenance services for eight movable bridges and associated infrastructure in District Five, which includes Volusia, Flagler, Seminole, Lake and Brevard Counties. TSNA-TI’s new five-year, US$15 million contract with AKDOT&PF will see the Company continue to provide operations and maintenance services to the Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel.

    Transfield Services (TSE) facilities management subsidiary USM has secured a new one-year contract   currently valued between US$85 million and US$100 million, to deliver exterior facilities maintenance services to over 4,000 Walmart stores across America with a conditional option for a second year. USM has also been awarded a one-year renewal of the existing snow and ice removal contract. Together, the two contracts are currently estimated to be worth US$130 million per annum. USM will provide a wide range of services, including landscaping (estimated to be 25% of total work), snow removal (35%), parking lot maintenance (35%) and water reclamation pressure washing (5%).

    ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures National Broadband Network Contract

    Transfield Services (TSE) has secured work in the initial phase of the National Broadband Network rollout programme to construct one of the first release sites, marking the beginning of the construction of Australia’s high speed fibre optic network. This follows input into the design process carried out by Transfield Services earlier this year. The Company will construct the fibre network in the coastal communities of Minnamurra and Kiama Downs south of Wollongong, which will bring high speed broadband connections to 2,600 households.

    Transfield Services Secures $200 million WA Government Housing Contract

    Transfield Services (TSE) has secured a three-year AUD200 million contract with the Western Australian Department of Housing to manage the repairs and maintenance of the Department’s public housing in Perth. The company will also provide repairs and maintenance services for public housing and government regional officer housing in the Great Southern, Midwest and Pilbara regions of Western Australia. Transfield Services will employ approximately 600 local subcontractors.
