ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures Walmart Contract

Transfield Services (TSE) facilities management subsidiary USM has secured a new one-year contract   currently valued between US$85 million and US$100 million, to deliver exterior facilities maintenance services to over 4,000 Walmart stores across America with a conditional option for a second year. USM has also been awarded a one-year renewal of the existing snow and ice removal contract. Together, the two contracts are currently estimated to be worth US$130 million per annum. USM will provide a wide range of services, including landscaping (estimated to be 25% of total work), snow removal (35%), parking lot maintenance (35%) and water reclamation pressure washing (5%).

ASX Company News: Transfield Services Secures National Broadband Network Contract

Transfield Services (TSE) has secured work in the initial phase of the National Broadband Network rollout programme to construct one of the first release sites, marking the beginning of the construction of Australia’s high speed fibre optic network. This follows input into the design process carried out by Transfield Services earlier this year. The Company will construct the fibre network in the coastal communities of Minnamurra and Kiama Downs south of Wollongong, which will bring high speed broadband connections to 2,600 households.

The work will commence during the second half of the current calendar year. Transfield Services Secures $200 million WA Government Housing Contract

Transfield Services (TSE) has secured a three-year AUD200 million contract with the Western Australian Department of Housing to manage the repairs and maintenance of the Department’s public housing in Perth. The company will also provide repairs and maintenance services for public housing and government regional officer housing in the Great Southern, Midwest and Pilbara regions of Western Australia. Transfield Services will employ approximately 600 local subcontractors.

Managing Director and CEO, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “This new contract brings the total of government-owned housing premises that will be maintained by Transfield Services in Australia to 100,000 and highlights our continued organic growth in the sector.” Transfield Services will use its Reconciliation Action Plan to engage Indigenous employees and provide employment opportunities across the awarded zones.

Transfield Services Secures $188 million New Contracts

Transfield Services’ US facilities management subsidiary, USM, has today announced that it has secured new contracts totalling USD188 million with major US clients Rite Aid Corporation, Bed Bath and Beyond, JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores, The Sports Authority and Regis Corporation.

USM will provide a range of facilities management services to its clients, including snow removal, landscaping, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC), floor care, janitorial, lighting, repair and maintenance services. The new USM contracts include a series of renewed contracts with Rite Aid Corporation, with an additional 150 sites for landscaping, over one year; an award of an additional 4,800 sites with Regis Corporation on an ongoing monthly basis; a renewed contract with The Sports Authority over three years; and an expanded contract with Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, with USM now servicing all 764 Jo-Ann Stores locations across the United States.

In addition to the contracts secured in North America, Transfield Services holds preferred bidder status in the Australian and New Zealand region over AUD590m of contracts and has been awarded AUS1.4m of new work in the Middle East.

Transfield Services Secures First US Contract

Transfield Services (TSE) has taken its successful transport services business into a new US state, securing a US$27.7 million five-year contract with the North Carolina Department of Transportation. Transfield Services North America Transportation Infrastructure will deliver operations, maintenance, emergency response, asset management and construction services on 135 miles of interstate roadway and associated assets.

Managing Director and CEO, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “This is a further endorsement for our North American transport infrastructure business and the quality of the services we provide to Government clients.” Transfield Services commenced work in North America’s transport infrastructure sector in 2007 and achieved revenues in excess of US$100 million in FY09. Transfield Services To Build New Brunswick Highway

Transfield Services (TSE) today announced that its partnership with Dexter Construction Co. Ltd. has been selected as the preferred proponent of a 30-year operations, maintenance and rehabilitation project by the New Brunswick Highway Corporation. The Route 1 Gateway Project is a Public Private Partnership, which includes the construction of 55 kilometres of a new four-lane highway and upgrades to existing sections of Route 1. The partnership was selected by the Province of New Brunswick to provide operations, maintenance and rehabilitation services.

Transfield Services’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Peter Goode, said today: “Our expertise in transport infrastructure continues to secure new work for us in North America. This is another example of our capability to grow our business organically.” Transfield Services’ North American subsidiary Transportation Infrastructure has secured more than AUD$800 million worth of contracts this financial year, with clients including the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, the Florida Department of Transportation, the District Department of Transportation in Washington D.C. and MAT Concessionaire LLC for the Port of Miami Tunnel. The contract is expected to be finalised in the next four weeks when further details will be provided.

Transfield Services and Worley Parsons Secure $76 million Phillipines Contract

Transfield Services (TSE) with WorleyParsons’ (WOR) joint venture (TSWP) today signed a seven-year contract valued at approximately AUD$76 million to deliver integrated services to Shell Philippines Exploration at its Malampaya gas facility. The contract includes a three-year extension option. TSWP will provide the base engineering, procurement, construction, maintenance and shutdown services to the Malampaya facilities from 1 January 2010, and will have the opportunity to access additional high value capital works during the lifetime of this contract. These facilities include a shallow water offshore platform off the island of Palawan and 500 kilometres of sub-sea pipeline, an onshore gas processing plant at Batangas, south of Manila, and an onshore gas pipeline to two power stations within Batangas.

Transfield Services Acquires Industrial Contract Designers

Transfield Services (TSE) will boost its engineering capabilities with today’s signing of the agreement to acquire Industrial Contract Designers (Asia Pacific) Pty Ltd (ICD) from Shell Australia for A$13  million. ICD’s team of 180 people delivers engineering and design of maintenance and brownfield projects to the hydrocarbons, processing and related industries.

Transfield Services’ Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dr Peter Goode said today: “ICD will broaden our service offerings by giving us the ability to integrate engineering services into our   high quality maintenance and project service delivery capabilities.
