ASX Company News: Traffic Technologies Secures UK Traffic Light Contracts

Monday, September 17th, 2012

Traffic Technologies Ltd (TTI) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary Aldridge Traffic Systems Pty Ltd has won new and significant export orders in the UK as follows: As part of a major refurbishment programme, Peterborough City Council in the east of England has entered into a contract to install LED traffic signals using the Company’s next generation technology, generating over 80% power savings as well as maintenance savings.

The Company has entered into a contract to supply LED traffic signals in the County of Cheshire in the north-west of England. The supply of LED traffic signals will assist Cheshire in meeting sustainability and carbon reduction targets generating over 75% power savings and maintenance savings.

The Company has received an initial order to supply pedestrian countdown timers to the City of Hull in the north-east of England. Pedestrian countdown timers reduce confusion and uncertainty and improve safety for pedestrians by displaying how many seconds they have left to cross the road at signalled intersections.

These contracts, which are worth over $0.5 million, are another major achievement for the Company and follow on from the supply agreement announced earlier this year with “Transport for London” (TfL) for the supply of pedestrian countdown timers, the first batch of which were installed at intersections in London in time for the Olympics. These new contracts reaffirm the Company’s position as a world leader in road safety products and represent an exciting opportunity for the Company to further develop a major export market in the UK for its road safety products.

ASX Company News: Traffic Technologies Awarded Victoria Traffic Light Contract

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

Traffic Technologies Ltd (TTI) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a $12.3 million contract by VicRoads for the replacement of incandescent and hybrid (incandescent and quartz halogen) traffic signals, with LED traffic signals at over 700 intersections within the Metropolitan South East, Metropolitan North West, Western and South Western Regions of Victoria. The award of this contract which will be delivered over a 65 week time frame, is an important milestone for the Company as this is the first supply and install of a new generation “Dual Voltage 240/42v LED Signal” in Australia, which has been designed and manufactured by TTI’s wholly owned subsidiary, Aldridge Traffic Systems.

The new generation LED traffic signals are significantly more energy efficient, require less maintenance, have lower carbon emissions and, due to the secondary extra low voltage 42v when switched, are safer than previous models. This contract win reinforces the Company as the market leader in the design and manufacture of LED traffic signal technology.

Wednesday, June 30th, 2010

The Traffic Management business is involved in the hiring out of traffic controllers to road authorities, contractors and local councils. The sale is part of the ongoing positioning of Traffic Technologies as Australia’s premier traffic solutions company, providing solutions ranging from the latest LED traffic lights to roadside safety phones, equipment hire and affiliated services.

Managing Director Mr. Con Liosatos said, “The divestment will enable Traffic Technologies to focus on developing its profitable Technical Products businesses and deliver on the commitment to  shareholders to cut costs and reduce debt. The Company has assessed the competitive environment in which the Traffic Management business operates and has determined that the divestment is the best long-term strategy for Traffic Technologies.”
