Leading independent satellite communications company NewSat Limited have signed a contract with Nixon Communications to provide communications services to two major construction projects in Queensland. Two new major liquefied natural gas (LNG) pipelines will run between Roma and Morven gas fields, with construction commencing in July 2010. NewSat will provide communications via satellite to Nixon’s infrastructure at three major camps along the pipeline as well as to three smaller construction camps. The service will be used by Nixon Communications to meet the project’s operational and administrative requirements. Over 300 project personnel will have access to high speed internet, voice and data services. This new contract will provide over $1 million in revenue to NewSat over the next 12 months. This comes during a period of sustained strong performances for NewSat. The current quarter is well on target to be NewSat’s eighth successive quarter of delivering over plan.
