ASX Company News: Neptune Marine Services Secures $14.5 million Survey Contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) announced that it has been contracted by Hess Exploration Australia Pty Limited for the provision of geotechnical and geophysical surveys for the Equus Gas Fields Development Project, located 180km north of Exmouth on the North West Shelf of Western Australia. Neptune has formed a strategic alliance with Greatship Subsea Solutions Australia Pty Ltd to complete the project. The alliance combines the capabilities and resources of both companies to provide clients with a complete geotechnical and geophysical solution in both shallow and deep waters. The total contract is estimated to be $14.5 million and is expected to commence late November 2011 for a duration of 75 days. Neptune’s share of the expected contract revenue is approximately $7.35 million.

Neptune’s CEO, Robin King, said the contract, which is the first Neptune will complete for Hess Exploration Australia Pty Ltd, represents an exciting opportunity that is reflective of Neptune’s focus on forming strategic alliances with key service providers to enhance our service capabilities. “As part of our strategy for growth, we recently outlined that FY2012 will see a key emphasis on developing alliances with related service providers in our key geographical regions. This project is an example of one such collaboration, through which we see long-term potential.”

ASX Company News: Neptune Marine Sells Fabrication Division

Neptune  Marine  Services  Limited  (NMS)  is  pleased  to  announce  it has  entered  into  an  agreement  to  sell  the  Company’s  Australian  fabrication  division  to  privately  owned engineering group Kempe Engineering. Kempe  Engineering  will  purchase  the  business  for  approximately  $0.4  million  while  Neptune  will retain  the  existing  lease  commitments  through  to  their  expiration  in  September  2012.

Neptune  Chief  Executive  Officer,  Robin  King,  said  the  sale  of  the  fabrication  business  represented one of the final milestones in the restructure of Neptune’s businesses and assets.

Mr King said despite the fabrication business having a good team, it had underperformed financially under Neptune’s control as it was not core to operations. He said he believed the strengths of the business  could  be  better  utilised  by  an  engineering  specialist  such  as  Kempe  Engineering,  who  can integrate the division with its existing operations.

Kempe Engineering is a privately owned group of companies headquartered in Geelong, Victoria, that is a leading world class global specialist engineering company providing engineering, technology and construction,  maintenance  services  and  process  equipment  to  the  major  resource  industries.  It employs approximately 2000 staff.

ASX Company News: Neptune Marine Services Sells ROV Supporter Vessel

Neptune Marine Services Limited (NMS) is pleased to announce it  has signed a Memorandum of Agreement for the sale of the vessel, ROV Supporter including the on board remotely operated vehicle. Under the terms of the agreement, Neptune will sell the Assets for US$2.4 million. The sale proceeds will augment working capital with Neptune now no longer holding any term debt. Completion of the schedule is expected in the week commencing 25 July 2011.

Neptune’s Chief Executive Officer Robin King said the sale of the Neptune Supporter Vessel and the ROV represents another milestone in the restructure of Neptune’s business and assets. “Sale  of  non‐core  assets  are  a  key  part  of  Neptune’s  ‘back  to  basics’  restructuring  program  as  we  don’t  believe  it  is  necessary  to  have  Neptune’s  capital  tied  up  in  vessel  ownership.    We are very pleased to achieve another milestone by confirming the sale of these non‐core assets,” Mr King said.

ASX Company News: Neptune Marine Secures Gorgon Contract Extension

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) announced a 14 month extension to its involvement with the Gorgon Project following the award of two new contracts. Collectively valued at approximately $12 million, the work scopes comprise: Dive and vessel support services for the Marine and Civil/Murray and Roberts Joint Venture (MMJV) on the new Gorgon LNG MOF Wharf Loading Facility that forms part of the civil works associated with the dredging contract being undertaken by Boskalis Australia Pty Ltd; Dive support services for Monadelphous Group Limited on phases two and three of the installation of a reverse-osmosis water treatment plant for the Gorgon Project.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said it was pleasing for the company to have secured additional work on the Gorgon Project, particularly in the early stages of commercial  development.

Neptune Marine Services Wins Libyan Contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been contracted to provide a range of hydrographic survey and positioning services to a new field development project offshore Libya that is operated by one of the world’s leading oil and gas producers.

Under the terms of the agreement, Neptune will provide rig and vessel positioning services for an initial three well drilling program with an option for an additional three wells. The project will be managed from Neptune’s UK operation in Aberdeen.   The first three wells will be drilled over a period of approximately 10‐12 months in average water depths of 3900 feet (1200 metres). The activity will take place in the Pelegian Basin which is located approximately 175km east of Tripoli and 65km off the coast due north of Misurata in the Mediterranean Sea.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the contract award was consistent with the company’s strategy of identifying new and emerging opportunities in the burgeoning deep water sector and securing longer term projects that delivered more stable revenues.  “Our entry into North Africa is also a direct result of our focus on organically growing Neptune’s offshore services capability in the UK. Our strong pipeline of tendering opportunities within the European region is further evidence of that,” he explained.  “As we continue to expand our unique multi‐service offering across the world’s key geographic regions, Neptune’s reputation as a reliable provider of engineered solutions is maturing among our target industries,” he added.

The contract award represents Neptune’s first major foray into the North African region that ranks in the top five OPEC member states for proven reserves of light sweet crude oil. Libya is recognised as Africa’s largest oil producer and is a leading (African) supplier of oil to Europe. To date the region’s vast oil and gas reserves remain largely unexplored.

Neptune Marine Services Secures Additional Gorgon Contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been contracted by Boskalis Australia to provide a range of diving support services on the Gorgon Project in Western Australia. Additional to the Gorgon works announced in January of this year, the latest contract comprises the provision of diving equipment and personnel to the port construction works being undertaken by Boskalis.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the company was very pleased to continue its involvement in Australia’s largest resources development project. “Our involvement in the Gorgon Project is consistent with our focus on securing longer term contracts that provide Neptune with more predictable and stable revenue streams,” he explained. Internationally, Neptune has also recently secured a range of new projects involving a number of its specialist divisions. Valued at approximately $12 million, the new works include Inspection and scheduled maintenance services for ConocoPhillips and Woodside in Australia; Engineering and manufacture of subsea equipment for GE Oil & Gas and BP in the UK.; a range of survey, positioning, geophysical support and pipeline stabilisation services in Australasia. “This latest round of work confirms the steady recovery and long term growth opportunities that exist in the Australian oil and gas industry, and particularly Western Australia,” Mr Lange said.

Neptune Marine Services Secures Gorgon Project Contracts

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been contracted to provide diving, survey and vessel support services on Chevron Australia’s Gorgon LNG project in Western Australia.

Valued at more than $5 million, the comprehensive work scope which forms part of the ‘Gorgon Initial Works’ program awarded to Marine & Civil Construction Pty Ltd includes:

  • • Installation of piping and the offshore pump station associated with the temporary desalination plant at Barrow Island.
  • • Diving support for the construction of a new supply barge facility.
  • • The provision of:
  1. Construction support (third party) and dive support (Neptune) vessels and associated crews.
  2. Offshore diving systems and associated personnel.
  3. Hydrographic/marine survey equipment and associated personnel.
  4. An offshore construction supervisor to oversee operations onboard the Marine & Civil construction barge.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the initial scope of work was very encouraging and offered the potential for further opportunities on what is Australia’s largest resources development project.  “Neptune is delighted to be involved with the Gorgon project and we see significant opportunity to expand our role as the project progresses,” he said.  “Our participation in Gorgon further illustrates the tangible benefits accruing from our strategy of providing a broad range of engineering and offshore services. “The broad range of works we are initially providing bodes well for Neptune’s involvement in the numerous LNG projects that are earmarked for development in Australia between 2010 and 2012. Mr. Lange said activity in all key offshore markets continued to improve and, in line with this, Neptune was maintaining a strong pipeline of bidding opportunities as well as a range of other growth prospects that were actively being pursued.  Work on the Gorgon project will commence in January 2010 and will contribute to revenue and earnings in the second half of FY2010.

Neptune Marine Services Secures Timor Sea Contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been awarded a combined services contract from ConocoPhillips Australia Pty Ltd on the Bayu-Undan Gas Recycle Facility located in the Timor Sea. Encompassing four of Neptune’s service lines, the scope of work includes a program of pipeline inspection surveys, ROV inspection of the facility’s pipelines and platform utilizing the Neptune Trident support vessel, and grouting services.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the contract award was indicative of Neptune’s maturation across its target industries. “This project highlights Neptune’s unique ability to provide its clients with customized solutions comprising multiple services that are assembled and managed by a single contractor,” he explained. In related company news, Neptune Geomatics has been awarded a rig positioning contract from Esso Australia Ltd, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation, on the Kipper Turrum Tuna Development Project in Australia’s Bass Strait region. Mr Lange said the new program of work, together with the recently announced contract awards in the UK, would contribute approximately $15 million to the company’s second half revenue and earnings weighting guidance.

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been awarded a new round of international contracts for some of the oil and gas industry’s leading operators. Spanning all of the world’s major geographic regions, the contracts include- A combined services project off the West Australian coast for global exploration and production company, Apache Energy; Various pipeline stabilisation and free span rectification projects including that for the Pipeline Replacement Project 2 being carried out by Leighton International for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation; A range of inspection and maintenance support services on Australia’s North West Shelf including a five-year program of inspection services for a leading FPSO operator; Design and manufacture of specialist subsea equipment for some of the oil and gas industry’s major multinationals; and Extended fabrication scope on the Pelamis Wave Power Eon Project in the UK that generates electricity from wave energy.

Neptune Marine Services Secures $25 million New Contracts

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has successfully secured a range of new projects both in Australia and international markets valued at approximately $25 million. All scheduled for completion in the first half of FY2010, the projects include A NEPSYS which is a repair project for a new customer operating in the North Sea , a range of diving and repair projects for several oil and gas projects in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, a one year extension of a Master Service Agreement for diving and repair works for an existing customer and a Freespan rectification and grouting services in Iran and Australia.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange , said the current scope of new work ’s was particularly encouraging and further demonstrated Neptune high levels of organic growth that continued to be experienced both domestically and internationally. “The NEPSYS repair project in the North Sea is strategically important and further emphasizes ® increasing recognition that the technology’s cost effectiveness and success as a permanent repair solution is gaining among the energy companies and EPIC contractors that are operating in large international markets,” he said. “Similarly, the fabrication works for the project in Brazil provides us with the opportunity to establish ourselves with a new customer in a new market.
