Neptune Marine Services Secures Gorgon Project Contracts

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been contracted to provide diving, survey and vessel support services on Chevron Australia’s Gorgon LNG project in Western Australia.

Valued at more than $5 million, the comprehensive work scope which forms part of the ‘Gorgon Initial Works’ program awarded to Marine & Civil Construction Pty Ltd includes:

  • • Installation of piping and the offshore pump station associated with the temporary desalination plant at Barrow Island.
  • • Diving support for the construction of a new supply barge facility.
  • • The provision of:
  1. Construction support (third party) and dive support (Neptune) vessels and associated crews.
  2. Offshore diving systems and associated personnel.
  3. Hydrographic/marine survey equipment and associated personnel.
  4. An offshore construction supervisor to oversee operations onboard the Marine & Civil construction barge.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the initial scope of work was very encouraging and offered the potential for further opportunities on what is Australia’s largest resources development project.  “Neptune is delighted to be involved with the Gorgon project and we see significant opportunity to expand our role as the project progresses,” he said.  “Our participation in Gorgon further illustrates the tangible benefits accruing from our strategy of providing a broad range of engineering and offshore services. It also highlights the fact that our customers are recognising the value of Neptune’s unique multi service offering.”

“The broad range of works we are initially providing bodes well for Neptune’s involvement in the numerous LNG projects that are earmarked for development in Australia between 2010 and 2012. Our recently announced project with Qatargas is indicative of the strong presence that we are forging in the LNG market.”

Mr. Lange said activity in all key offshore markets continued to improve and, in line with this, Neptune was maintaining a strong pipeline of bidding opportunities as well as a range of other growth prospects that were actively being pursued.  Work on the Gorgon project will commence in January 2010 and will contribute to revenue and earnings in the second half of FY2010.

Neptune Marine Services Secures Timor Sea Contract

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been awarded a combined services contract from ConocoPhillips Australia Pty Ltd on the Bayu-Undan Gas Recycle Facility located in the Timor Sea. Encompassing four of Neptune’s service lines, the scope of work includes a program of pipeline inspection surveys, ROV inspection of the facility’s pipelines and platform utilizing the Neptune Trident support vessel, and grouting services.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the contract award was indicative of Neptune’s maturation across its target industries. “This project highlights Neptune’s unique ability to provide its clients with customized solutions comprising multiple services that are assembled and managed by a single contractor,” he explained. In related company news, Neptune Geomatics has been awarded a rig positioning contract from Esso Australia Ltd, a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation, on the Kipper Turrum Tuna Development Project in Australia’s Bass Strait region. Mr Lange said the new program of work, together with the recently announced contract awards in the UK, would contribute approximately $15 million to the company’s second half revenue and earnings weighting guidance.

Neptune Marine Services Secures $20 million In New Contracts

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has been awarded a new round of international contracts for some of the oil and gas industry’s leading operators. Spanning all of the world’s major geographic regions, the contracts include- A combined services project off the West Australian coast for global exploration and production company, Apache Energy; Various pipeline stabilisation and free span rectification projects including that for the Pipeline Replacement Project 2 being carried out by Leighton International for India’s Oil and Natural Gas Corporation; A range of inspection and maintenance support services on Australia’s North West Shelf including a five-year program of inspection services for a leading FPSO operator; Design and manufacture of specialist subsea equipment for some of the oil and gas industry’s major multinationals; and Extended fabrication scope on the Pelamis Wave Power Eon Project in the UK that generates electricity from wave energy.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the new round of work, valued at more than $20 million, was indicative of the improving domestic and international oilfield service environment.

Neptune Marine Services Secures $25 million New Contracts

Neptune Marine Services Ltd (NMS) today announced that it has successfully secured a range of new projects both in Australia and international markets valued at approximately $25 million. All scheduled for completion in the first half of FY2010, the projects include A NEPSYS which is a repair project for a new customer operating in the North Sea , a range of diving and repair projects for several oil and gas projects in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, a one year extension of a Master Service Agreement for diving and repair works for an existing customer and a Freespan rectification and grouting services in Iran and Australia.

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange , said the current scope of new work ’s was particularly encouraging and further demonstrated Neptune high levels of organic growth that continued to be experienced both domestically and internationally. “The NEPSYS repair project in the North Sea is strategically important and further emphasizes ® increasing recognition that the technology’s cost effectiveness and success as a permanent repair solution is gaining among the energy companies and EPIC contractors that are operating in large international markets,” he said. “Similarly, the fabrication works for the project in Brazil provides us with the opportunity to establish ourselves with a new customer in a new market. Brazil’s burgeoning oil and gas industry holds a lot of potential for the ongoing international expansion of the Neptune group.” Mr Lange said the group’s strong pipeline of tendering opportunities in all markets was expected to deliver considerable upside.

Neptune Marine Services Share Purchase Plan

Neptune Marine Services (NMS) announced on the 5/6/2009 that they would be conducting a Share Purchase Plan to raise additional capital. The record date is the 22/6/2009 on which shareholders must own the share to participate in the SPP and the closing date is the 17/7/2009.   Shares will be issued on the 27/7/2009.   A maximum of $15,000 can be purchased by each shareholder at $0.50.

Neptune Marine Services Secures $10 million Contract

Neptune Marine Services (NMS) announces that its specialist fabrication business unit, Link Weld Engineering, has been awarded a contract by Acergy Australia for the fabrication of subsea tie-in spools for Woodside‟s Pluto LNG Project. Valued at approximately $10 million, the scope of work involves the fabrication of 31 spools, for both deepwater and shallow water (platform) application.  Neptune‟s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said it further bolstered the Group‟s position on the back of its recent announcement that revealed new and extended contract work valued at approximately $45 million. “Importantly, this project also increases our involvement with the Pluto LNG Project given that both our survey and ROV divisions have already been contracted to undertake support works during the jacket installation phase.”

Neptune Marine Services Secures $45 million New Contracts

Neptune Marine Services (NMS) announces that it has recently secured new and extended contracts worth approximately $45 million. Involving five of Neptune’s business units, the projects span Australia, Indonesia, India, Brunei, Hong Kong, the Gulf of Mexico and Russia. Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the contracts demonstrated an increased awareness of the Group’s integrated service capabilities within the global oil and gas industry and the fact that Neptune continues to partner with some of the world’s leading blue chip energy companies and EPIC contractors.

Neptune Marine Profits Increase 200%

Neptune Marine Services (NMS) reported first half 2009 revenues of $95 million versus $31.7 million in H1 2008. Income from continuing operations, excluding non-cash charges, was $15.6 million, representing diluted earnings per share of 5.1 cents versus 1.0 cent for the same period last year.  Operating cashfows for the period were $6.4 million versus $4.2 million for the first half of 2008. 

Neptune’s Managing Director and CEO, Christian Lange, said the result was particularly encouraging in light of the current global economic climate. “As previously outlined, Neptune has not experienced a material impact to date, as the majority of our revenue is derived from continued investment in brownfield infrastructure and producing assets,” he explained. “Additionally, it is worth noting that revenues for the first six months include only three months contribution from the Neptune Trident Offshore Vessel.”
