ASX Company News: Global Health Executes New Contract With headspace

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Global Health (GLH) is pleased to announce the execution of a contract with headspace: the National Youth Mental Health Foundation for the deployment of the Company’s MasterCare Clinician platform and ReferralNet Secure Messaging platform across 40 headspace centres nationally.

Headspace provides mental and health wellbeing support, information and services to young people and their families across Australia.  Established in 2006 and funded by the Commonwealth Government of Australia, headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation.  The people that work at headspace are providing solutions for young people aged 12 to 25 years.

There are 30 existing  headspace centres across Australia with a further 10 new centres scheduled to be opened in the second half of 2011.  The majority of existing headspace centres use Global Health’s MHAGIC Mental Health Case Management Software.

The contract provides for the existing MHAGIC installations to be upgraded to the Company’s MasterCare Shared Electronic Medical Record with headspace-specific customisations to further enhance the market-leading features of the Company’s MHAGIC product.

MasterCare billing, scheduling and eClaim functionality along with Global Health’s ReferralNet platform for secure messaging will also be implemented to complete the solution.  The 10 new headspace centres will be installed with MasterCare when they open in the second half of 2011. Activity from  headspace’s growing number of centres will be consolidated into a national headspace data warehouse to support the executive and management information needs of the Foundation.

Headspace Director of Innovation and Strategic Development, Deepika Ratnaike said, “Global Health has provided their MHAGIC application to support our operations since our initial centres were established.  It has been effective in supporting the complex workflow and data requirements for headspace centres. Most  headspace  centres are co-located with organisations that typically provide GP and other allied health services. The upgrade will allow our centres to be standardised on one platform for all their clinical and practice management needs without compromising headspace specific workflow and associated reporting.  We look forward to Global Health’s comprehensive support to implementing MasterCare EMR in 2011.”
