ASX Company News: Global Construction Services Secures Carpark Project

Construction services group Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) is delighted to announce being awarded preferred contractor status for a major formwork and concrete contract by Probuild Constructions (Aust) Pty Ltd, for the Capella Car Park Unit Trust on the Western Australian Department of Health QEII MC Car Park Project. The contract valued at $30 million has been awarded to CASC, GCS Group’s formwork division. Under the terms of the contract, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation for the project over a period of approximately 2 years, commencing in September 2011.

GCS Group Managing Director Mr Enzo Gullotti said “The contract represents a major boost for GCS and the CASC business.” “We’re delighted to have been successful in our bid to Probuild on a significant Government infrastructure project in Western Australia” said Mr Gullotti. “Revenue will be booked in the next two financial years, providing GCS with a solid platform for continued growth.” The QEII MC Car Park Project includes the construction of a seven storey multi-deck car park on the corner of Aberdare and Winthrop, delivering more than 3,000 car bays. Construction on the multi-deck car park will begin in September 2011 and will be opened progressively from late 2012.

GCS has recently reported a 70% increase in NPAT to $19.4million for the financial year ended 30 June 2011. The result was driven by strong performance by a number of the group’s businesses and the achievement of key milestones on major projects. GCS continues to tender significant contract opportunities in the Commercial, Resource and Industrial sectors, taking advantage of in excess of $100 billion of committed Resources and Infrastructure projects in Western Australia alone.

Global Construction Services May Acquire Hire Company

Construction services group Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) today announced that it has submitted a non-binding, indicative bid for a hire business in Western Australia. The target business currently generates revenue of approximately $9 million per annum and it fits with GCS’s stated strategy of growth through acquisition, acquiring businesses that are complementary to or enhance its existing suite of products and services. The negotiations are at a preliminary stage and remain incomplete. The transaction is subject to various approvals and if the bid is successful, it is expected that the acquisition will be EPS accretive.

Global Construction Services Secures $3.8 million Formwork Contract

Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded an additional formwork and concrete contract on the Western Australian Department of Health’s Fiona Stanley Hospital Project in Perth from Delta Group. The contract, valued at $3.8 million, has been awarded to CASC, GCS’s Formwork division. This follows on from the recent award of a $75 million contract by Brookfield Multiplex on the same project. As a sub-contractor to Delta Group, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation on their portion of the construction works, commencing in January 2010. The $1.76 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital at Murdoch will be a 643-bed state-of-the-art hospital and the major tertiary health facility in the south metropolitan area. The facility will offer first-rate health care services to communities in south of Perth and across the state. Due for construction completion in late 2013 and opening in 2014, the hospital will provide high level medical and teaching facilities.

Global Construction Services Wins $75 million Formwork Contract

Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a major formwork and concrete contract with Brookfield Multiplex for the Western Australian Department of Health’s Fiona Stanley Hospital Project in Perth. The contract, valued at $75 million, has been awarded to CASC, GCS’s Formwork division. CASC now has more than $115m worth of contracted work in hand. Under the terms of the contract, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation for the project over a period of approximately 2 years, commencing in March 2010.

GCS Group Managing Director Enzo Gullotti said the contract represented a major boost for GCS and the CASC business. “We’re delighted to have been successful in our bid to Brookfield Multiplex on one of the largest Government infrastructure projects in WA,” said Mr Gullotti. “Revenue will be booked in the next three financial years, FY10-FY12, providing GCS with an outstanding platform to drive strong growth over the period.”

Confirmation of the Fiona Stanley Hospital contract comes as GCS starts to see some positive improvement in business conditions after a mixed start to the 2010 financial year.

Global Construction Services (GCS) announced on the 06/02/2009 that they would be conducting a Share Purchase Plan to raise additional capital.  The record date is 27/02/2009 on which shareholders must own the share to participate in the SPP.  Shares are expected to be issued on 31/03/2009.  A maximum of $5,000 can be purchased by each shareholder at a price of$0.400 or a discount of 4% to the average price (average price (VWAP)) prior to the offer date.
