Approximately 1% of SP AusNet’s (SPN) electricity distribution network has been damaged by the Victorian bushfires. Damage has mainly been to distribution poles, associated conductors and pole top transformers. To date, no material damage has been experienced on SP AusNet’s electricity transmission network or gas distribution network.
SP AusNet’s area includes a number of regions affected by these bushfires and approximately 6,000 homes and businesses in SP AusNet’s network area continue to be without power as a result.
SP AusNet is working to restore power to affected customers as quickly as possible within the constraints of restricted access to live fire and damaged areas and ensuring that our people operate in a safe working environment.
SP AusNet will continue to update the market as further information on the impact of the bushfires becomes available.
