ASX Company News: Eden Energy To Spin Off UK Gas Assets

Eden Energy Ltd (EDE) plans to spinout its’ wholly owned UK coal seam methane/shale gas subsidiary, Eden Energy (UK) Ltd into a new proposed ASX listing to be called Adamo Energy Ltd (Adamo).    Independently reported Shale Gas Unrisked Prospective Mean Resources GIIP for part of the licence area, of which Eden holds 50%, stand at 49.8 TCF.   This spinout will be undertaken as soon as it is deemed that the market conditions are suitable.

The key details of this proposed new float, which will be subject to all necessary approvals being obtained are:

• Capital Raising – it is proposed to raise at least A$10.0 million

• Eden Energy Ltd shareholders – To be offered a priority entitlement via a Prospectus

• Large UK landholding – South Wales, Bristol and Kent

• Large Prospective Gas Resource

• Strong UK management team arranged2

• Very strong prospective UK gas market

ASX Company News: Eden Energy Enters Indian JV Agreement

Eden Energy Ltd (EDE) has entered into an agreement with the Automotive Research Association of India to collaborate to promote in India the use of hydrogen and hydrogen enriched natural gas (HCNG or Hythane®) as a premium blend of Natural Gas for internal combustion engines.

This agreement with a leading Indian automotive industry body, is seen as another important step in the promotion in India of the use of both hydrogen and hydrogen enriched natural gas as vehicle fuels in India and will help to build the momentum in India for the use of these new, clean fuels. Under the Indian Government’s Hydrogen Roadmap, it is proposed that 20% of all vehicles will be running on a hydrogen based fuel by 2020, and 100% all vehicles will be running on a hydrogen based fuel by 2050. HCNG is the proposed transitional fuel under the Hydrogen Roadmap.

ARAI, established in Pune, India, in 1966 by the Indian automotive industry and affiliated with the Indian Government’s Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, is one of the leading, R&D, testing and certification organizations in India.

Under the terms of the agreement Eden, and where appropriate its subsidiaries, and ARAI agree to collaborate on projects that may arise including in the areas of Engine and engine component development for hydrogen and HCNG applications; Testing of hydrogen and HCNG engines developed by Eden for different regulations; Development of Standards and Regulations; and Demonstration projects, including the first Hythane® bus demonstration project planned by Eden for 2010/2011 in Mumbai in collaboration with GAIL and MGL, where ARAI would lend its general support such as assisting as required with Vehicle Layout evaluation for the HCNG bus.

Share Purchase Plans: Eden Energy

Eden Energy (EDE) announced on the 18/8/2010 that they would be conducting a Share Purchase Plan to raise additional capital. The record date was the 17/8/2010 on which shareholders must own the share to participate in the SPP. The closing date is 28/9/2010.  Shares will be issued on 4/10/2010 and begin trading soon after.   A maximum of $15,000 can be purchased by each shareholder at $0.05.

Ashok Leyland Has Developed Hythane Engine

Eden Energy (EDE) announces that Ashok Leyland has formally announced the launch of its new Indian Hythane engine.   Ashok Leyland develops Hythane engines.   

Hythane is a blend of natural gas and hydrogen (usually 20 per cent hydrogen by volume). Addition of Hydrogen (a renewable fuel), improves efficiency, while retaining the low emission characteristics of CNG.

Ashok Leyland, the Hinduja Group flagship, has successfully developed a 6-cylinder, 6-litre 92 kW BS-4 engine for operation with Hythane, in association with Eden Energy, Australia.
