NetComm Limited (NTC) is pleased to announce that its industrial 3G division, Call Direct, has received an initial order from IKUSI ANZ Pty Ltd – a subsidiary of Angel Iglesias, S.A. – for its new NTC-6908 model. The order value is approximately $A1.2 million and is for the first phase of deployment, with delivery commencing in July 2010.
Call Direct gained this business by customising this new 3G modem so that it can be integrated into IKUSI’s Digital Set Top Box. To be predominantly located in hotels, this device provides a wireless back channel which enables remote monitoring, management and upgrading of the Digital Set Top Box. The remote system monitoring reduces field maintenance costs and ensures that gateway-related down time is minimised – critical for this application. The industrial design of the NTC-6908 also caters for a wide temperature range so that it can be used in just about any location.
As part of its international expansion programme, NetComm is also pursuing overseas markets for Call Direct’s industrial 3G range.
