Global Construction Services Limited (GCS) is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a major formwork and concrete contract with Brookfield Multiplex for the Western Australian Department of Health’s Fiona Stanley Hospital Project in Perth. The contract, valued at $75 million, has been awarded to CASC, GCS’s Formwork division. CASC now has more than $115m worth of contracted work in hand. Under the terms of the contract, CASC will provide formwork and concrete installation for the project over a period of approximately 2 years, commencing in March 2010.
GCS Group Managing Director Enzo Gullotti said the contract represented a major boost for GCS and the CASC business. “We’re delighted to have been successful in our bid to Brookfield Multiplex on one of the largest Government infrastructure projects in WA,” said Mr Gullotti. “Revenue will be booked in the next three financial years, FY10-FY12, providing GCS with an outstanding platform to drive strong growth over the period.”
The $1.76 billion Fiona Stanley Hospital at Murdoch will be a 643-bed state-of-the-art hospital and the major tertiary health facility in the south metropolitan area. The facility will offer first-rate health care services to communities in south of Perth and across the state. Due for construction completion in late 2013 and opening in 2014, the hospital will provide high level medical and teaching facilities. In addition to the Fiona Stanley Hospital contract, CASC’s other major projects are progressing well, the City Square development in Perth ($24m contract value) and the Claremont Quarter project in Claremont ($18m contract value). Confirmation of the Fiona Stanley Hospital contract comes as GCS starts to see some positive improvement in business conditions after a mixed start to the 2010 financial year.
