Hi everyone, it s time for an update on some of the things that are coming in the next release of the Market Analyser. Specifically, I d like to mention the new drawing tools capability that will be included. (The new feature where the program will mow your lawn will have to wait for another day.)
While there are many requests and suggestions received one of the oldest and oft requested features is the ability to have further drawing tools in the chart. This has included rectangles, ellipses (or circles), arrows and icons (or stamps). For this release, Lucy (our Business Analyst for the Market Analyser) put together a design document for drawing tools based on customer feedback, how other programs function in this way and on the phases of the moon (One of those is incorrect.). Mark and Tam are now implementing the first version of that, which will be released in the next Market Analyser.
Note for that our beta tester Calypso users, the release this week should include the first version of this update.
Furthermore, there s also a new toolbar being introduced, specifically for these drawing tools which will appear on the left hand side of the chart. The main reason for this toolbar is to easily allow users to draw multiple instances of the one indicator or tool, without having to reselect the toolbar button.
In the past, the right click mouse button has been available, depending on your settings, to cancel when drawing multiple trendlines. In the future, any tool launched from this left hand toolbar will automatically continue drawing new items, until you cancel the request using the stop button or right click.
The initial release will only include rectangles and ellipses, along with this new toolbar repeat drawing functionality, but after further feedback from our users on this release, we fully expect to expand this to include other drawing styles, such as arrows etc in the near future.
As a final note, there are many bug fixes in this release and work on changing how the actual data is delivered is being worked on too, but I wanted to focus on a feature change for this post. For my next post, I hope to cover the changes coming in the Training Mode area.
