We’ve had the ability to provide ticked based history for a number of years, but have never been able to display the ticked information in the charts part of the program. However, a change that was made a few weeks ago to the chart, to fix a problem in a particular area, meant that it was then possible to include a ticked time span in the charts.
Therefore, the next release of the program will include the ability to show ticked based charts. It’s not yet implemented, but by the time of the next release, it should also be possible to have a ticked chart show with groupings based on the number of ticks. For example, display a chart where each bar, on an OHLC chart, represents 100 ticks. No matter whether those trades occurred over the course of one minute, five hours (i.e. Slow Night Sessions) or five days.
Here’s an example of the 3 Year Bond chart from the SFE.

What’s a tick? A tick is a trade. So a ticked chart of Microsoft would show one point (or one bar) for every trade on Microsoft. Because of this, ticked charts will not be available for delayed data.
