A new update to the software will be released this week. For some users, this is already available. I wanted to mention a few of the included changes in the blog, to raise the awareness of them. The full list of changes should be displayed when you run your update.
How to get the update? Once the update is available for your version, then you will be offered the chance to have the program automatically upgrade, when you log in. If you answer yes to the query, then the update should be performed automatically.
What’s Changed?
This release is focused more on fixes to existing issues, than to adding new features. However, a few features have been introduced…
The software now supports market orders for Man CFDs and Maquarie Futures. We are in the final stages of compliance signoffs on the actual forms, but expect the final okay to be given in the next few days. At that time, if you hold a Macquarie Futures account, or Man CFD account, then you should be able to enter orders through the software, for their supported markets. This is in addition to the ASX Equities and ETOs already available via Morrisons. More details on exactly what you have to do to enable this access will be provided shortly.
The Vassallo indicators from Market Informer have been added to the system. Martin talked about these briefly in a prior blog posting. Two Analyser/Entry scripts have been added, along with one Chart/Plotted script. Due to their complexity, the two Analyser scripts can be very slow to run. I would suggest focusing on a market segment or watchlist, as opposed to the full market.
For indicator writers, the plotted scripts can now draw dots (using the type ltSpot). There’s also a new CreateBitmapLine function that can draw bitmap images onto the chart at the specified positions.
Fixes include…
- Hopefully the final fix needed to stop the problem where double clicking on a watchlist entry results in no new chart window load.
- When the program is loading, it will open up existing chart windows with the template or saved chart loaded, that the program was closed with.
- Horizontal and Vertical trendlines can now be resized properly.
- Gann Fan and Natural Gann Squares can now be dragged properly.
- Dragging the main application bar around your screen shouldn’t cause it to resize any longer. (This was a personal bug bear of mine.)
- The number of ticks in the scale on the main price chart has been increased.
What was missed?
The changes to the alerts system, which are still waiting in our development version, waiting to be fully tested.
Thank you to everyone for the input and effort that’s been put into this release. Including our Calypso Users, Staff and regular users. It’s very much appreciated.
Craig.

What was missed?
Hi Craige, I was dissapionted to see that you havn’t addressed the issue of the program hanging (not loading a chart after loading several), this happens at random and is an issue I have had for a long time. I have spoken to the support team on many accasions and have, under their instruction deleted and reloaded the program twice now, to no avail. I have not rung for a while as there seems to be no answer. When this happens I close the program and reload, it is then okay for a while. I am running windows XP, version 5.1 SP2, Celeron 2.67 GHz with 480 MB of RAM. The MA version is 6.0.148.1160.
Regards,
Heather
Hi Heather,
We actually think we have. So far, none of our testers have reported any further issues with that, in this release.
Regards,
Craig.
Hi Craig,
Sorry to inform you that the problem (as Heather describes,) is still there !
It is a real pain in the a**e!
If it can not be sorted soon, I would prefer to go back to the old version which worked but without all the bells and whistles.
Hope this feedback (although negative,) helps !
Regards
Phil
Hi Phil,
While I’m certain that there will still be issues that we haven’t fixed, just check that you have actually upgraded. Up until this point, the program isn’t yet telling you that a new version is avialable. Unless your run your update program manually, then you won’t receive the update.
If you’ve updated, then the copyright notice on the initial load up screen will show 2006, not 2005 for example.
Regards,
Craig.
Hi Craig, Look forward to using the Vassalo scripts & MAN cfd module.
You made my day!
cheers
I had the same problem as Heather Redman and Phil Lalor also using XP in a computer with plenty of guts. I finished up taking it to the Xspurts who reloaded XP. Since then ( two weeks ) MA has been fine.
I was starting to get failures in the other trading programs that I use. All of this started to happen after installing MA.
Hi Craig
I am sorry to say but I still have the chart calling problems both on double click and using chart button. This has been going on for a year and like others find it disappointing.
Looking forward to hearing a solution.
Casper
Hi Casper,
This update isn’t yet notifying you of the upgrade being available, so please be sure that you’ve run it manually. However, we to have it released officially today, along with the support for futures.
We’ve also since found an issue with the SAR indicator that was causing the charts to not open. This fix will be included in the update released later today too.
Regards,
Craig.
Hi Craig
I have updated on the 9th and 16th. Sorry to say but still having the problem both double click and chart button.
Cheers casper
Hi Casper,
Please get in touch with Tech Support. They have a check list of indicators to run through that might be causing the issue.
Thanks,
Craig.
Hi Craig,
I am still having the problem with my program hanging (not loading the chart from my watchlist or by any other method). I have run the updater manually, closed the computor and re-started many times, but the problem still exists. I have also spoken to support last week they said they would look into it and to send them the dignoses, which I did!!!
Looking forward to solving this problem
Regards,
Heather Redman
Hi Craige,
I am still having the same problem, re my two previouse emails. The problem of the program not loading the chart was getting better (not completely gone but only hanging once or twice a day) since my last update yesterday the problem seems to be worse twice already this morning. I haven’t heard from support either. I am not having any other problems with anything else on my computer.
Regards,
Heather Redman
